Stream Gauging and Hydrology Assessments

Hydrology Northwest staff has installed and monitored over 80 stream gauges in the United States and British Columbia, Canada during the past 25 years. Senior staff has over 25 years experience ranging from gauge installation on mountain streams and major Northwest rivers, to complex analysis; generating daily flow records of ungauged streams and assessing the feasibility of potential hydro-power projects.

Our scientists have had installations, methods, and flow records reviewed, accepted, and published by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and have been contracted by the USGS to monitor several streams. Some sites are only accessible by snow machine and hiking in the winter, while others require helicopter access during all months.
